The winger impressed during the Europa League fixtures in the summer, but has been sidelined with calf and shin problems.

That hasn't deterred Celtic boss Tony Mowbray, however, and the 'Well board are considering an offer for the player.

Interim manager Craig Brown, who has yet to see Slane in first team action, admitted: "Celtic have been in touch with an offer. It's clear that he is going. It's a pity but that's the way of the world."

Slane was handed his chance when Jim Gannon arrived at Fir Park in June and decided to blood several young players.

He scored in the 8-1 Europa League thrashing of Flamuntari and his form resulted in a Scotland under-19 call-up.

He returned to action as a substitute in the Boxing Day defeat by St Johnstone – Gannon's last match as manager – then suffered another injury.

'Well are aiming to make it three SPL wins in a row away to bottom side Falkirk on Wednesday (January 27).

That is followed by a trip to Aberdeen on Saturday.

Striker Lukas Jutkiewicz needed 12 stitches in a thigh wound during Saturday's 2-0 against St Mirren, but was expected to be fit for the Falkirk match.

Defender Shaun Hutchinson could be back in contention on Saturday after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
