Sold-out gig for home town group

BELLSHILL blues-rock outfit The Lonely Souls play a sold-out gig at Bellshill and Mossend Bowling Club next month.

The gig on Saturday, September 25, will coincide with the release of a new acoustic 'taster' CD as the band seek to raise funds to record a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Move Your Bones.

Band leader Mark Clinton said: "When you play in Glasgow people make the effort to travel but we had been asked many times if we could play in our home town, the only problem was finding a venue.

"There is very little choice in the current market for suitable venues in small towns in Scotland but we decided to hire the hall in the bowling club.

"And while we weren't very sure how sales would go all the tickets went in three days."

The band have printed 100 limited editions of the new acoustic CD which they will give away to the audience at the gig.

Mark continued: "Hopefully it will give people a taste of our new stuff and what they would like to hear fully produced on the new album."
